My Chapbalang Language
Recently I'm thinking of the same topic 'language' like 1+2mom too...
When I'm expecting, I oledi told all my family member that must teach SQ Hakka...Coz I felt TAT this is her mother language she kenot learn from school or social..Everything going very well til recently..(I think I'm confusing myself liao)....Now SQ understand very well wat we speak to her in Hakka..
Gotta explain y I confusing myself lah....wat language SQ usually heard at home.....
SQ's 10 year old korkor - Cantonese
My parents/MIL/sister - Hakka
Papa - Hakka + >Mandarin
Mama - Hakka + Mandarin + English + cantonese
VCD - English
Now I suspected that this is the reason why SQ pickup language so slowly liao....She is 20 months old now..still at the stage of 'single word' like
mao mao = cat
wow wow = dog
Ten = tanglung / chair
Siao = bird
All u can see I'm the one most 'ABC' when speaking to her...hehe....Altho I wish to speak english to SQ, but due to my 'english limited company'...I better don't lah...otherwise u will hear SQ saying "Oo-ren-ji" instead of "Orange' liao...hahaa
SQ started to pickup 'chapbalang' (mixed) language ler...Now i gotta guess wat language she is using liao...hahaa..funny...
But I quite worry oso lah....worry too many type of language will confuse her mah...coz sometimes I confusing myself too...example like :
"Don't stand on the chair! Come down!"
**SQ ignore me**
msau *donno SQ understand or not*
"Bu Yao Zai Zai Yi ZI Shang! Xia Lai!"
**SQ look at me for awhile, then continue playing her stuff & stand on chair**
msau *ee..mandarin maybe not understand oso wor...*
"Ng Moi Ki Choi Den Song Mian! Lok Loi!!"
msau *haii....y I need to speak so many language to SQ wan ler???..seem like very long-wind lah*
I wondering which language she understand actually...:p
