Should I Apply A Merchant Account

I'm know many online store are accepting credit card payment. And this sure is a good way to increase sales. If I'm a buyer, I will wish to pay with credit card, rather then paying cash or do online transfer. I'm thinking that should I apply a Credit Card Merchant account for my online store or not.

I'm not very understand how the processing for this application and how much will it charge to setup a credit card merchant account. Beside this, I'm very worry about those setting too..Because I know nothing about those computer thingy.
